Challenges

Cold storages have 24X7 operations and the challenge is to quickly unload a truck and move the material to a storage location. Any delays in getting the same done might damage temperature critical items like fruits, ice creams etc. Even other less critical products could get damaged without proper monitoring of delays and time taken. Apart from this the billing of the customers should be accurate since there are multiple plans and the removal of material from the cold storage happens round the clock. 

There are a lot of areas where transactional clarity is paramount, like manual labour charges in loading and unloading of material along with other damages and counting of material which the customer might be expecting savla to do. While doing all these the customer needs to get a seamless experience and trust of not just handling his items but also surety of operational superiority.

Solution

We prepared a real time online solution which not just kept the stocks as per rooms, racks etc while giving each storage material a unique location. Apart from showing the same to the customer using a customer portal, the tracking of stocks was accurate and real time. This helped us achieve faster turn around times of vehicles and also resulted in better service to customers.

Apart from this opening up the bottle necks caused due to real time information not being available at the floor has also been mitigated by the web application which works across zones and creates a real time data link between the servers and the users on the floor.
